Kimberly Soriano (she/they) is a queer Oaxacan and Guerrense educator, experimenter and researcher. Born and raised in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, she organizes with sex workers against displacement, policing and gentrification.

She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. She received her PhD in Feminist Studies from UC Santa Barbara and a dual B.A. in Chicana/o Studies and African American Studies from UCLA. 

Her current book project titled, Gendered Enclosures and Feminist Fugitivities in Latinx Los Angeles centers  care webs that are built by communities who navigate gendered and racialized policing and displacement in a globalized city. Her second project expands on her organizing work during the Superbowl 2022, focusing on criminalization of sex workers in the Figueroa Corridor and South Los Angeles for sports development. She currently works with Southern California Library in South Central Los Angeles and organizes with Sex Worker Outreach Project Los Angeles, The Sidewalk Project and has served as a fellow and advisor to Sex Worker Giving Circle

Kimberly is available for research consultations, curriculum development (Gender and Sexuality Studies, Ethnic Studies, Prisons, Surveillance and Carcerality), project management, classroom presentations and facilitation.
